v1.0.1 — 5 August 2026 — Multi-class vocabulary and MCP practice progress

Practice sessions run through a connected AI app like Claude or ChatGPT now show a live progress bar as you answer, and a results table with each question's outcome once you finish.
A word can belong to more than one class at once — ペコペコ is both an onomatopoeia and an adverb. The vocabulary reference Type column shows every class, filtering matches any of them, and connected AI apps see the same full set.
The account menu and Documentation page now link straight to this changelog.

Conversation practice now lives in connected AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT, which conduct and record it in conversation. The built-in conversation screen is gone, and legacy conversation sessions no longer offer Continue or Again.
The busiest pages got faster: lessons and sessions load a page at a time, vocabulary reference search is index-backed, topic cards draw their sample words from a single request (rotating daily), and finishing a session updates your stats instantly however much history you have.
A practice session being generated shows real progress — a stable percentage and honest activity notes, with a clear message if generation fails — and sessions completed in a connected app show as completed immediately.
Re-uploading a lesson PDF is caught before a duplicate is created: an unchanged file points back at the lesson it matches, and an updated deck from your tutor can continue the earlier lesson, adding only its new or changed pages.
Sessions run by a connected AI app end with a short closing summary, shown on the session's detail page and shared links; the app can also add a summary to sessions you ran yourself.
The vocabulary reference table is sortable, and particle practice can start from your latest lesson or a recent one you pick.

Practice sessions now generate in about thirty seconds instead of two minutes.
Generated questions are validated as they are produced, and anything malformed is repaired automatically instead of failing the session.
Generation became durable: a slow or failed step resumes where it left off rather than losing the whole session.
Particle questions became multiple choice, and fixes landed for answers dropping silently and sessions double-submitting on completion.

Practice sessions can be shared by URL, with a dedicated review view for the person you share with.
Web pages and YouTube transcripts can be added as study material, alongside uploads and pasted text.
This documentation site launched, together with the public vocabulary reference.
Learning stats persist, so progress carries across sessions.
New accounts start with a seeded example lesson to explore.

Usernames became editable, and email login arrived.
Notes: freeform notes attached to a lesson, with their own page and accent themes.
Public grammar reference pages launched.
Vocabulary is deduplicated against a shared word list, and connected apps can read your full known-word inventory.
Mobile spacing, layout, and touch interactions were fixed across the app.

Past practice sessions can be reviewed item by item, with each question's explanation revealed once it is answered correctly or the session is complete.
Connected AI apps can review your past sessions too.
Resuming a session restores the answers you had already given.

The atode MCP server launched: connected apps such as ChatGPT and Claude can plan and run practice sessions against your own material.
Connecting is managed with OAuth consent and API keys, from a settings page with per-app instructions.
Practice generation moved to the background, so the app stays responsive while a session is prepared.

The first version of atode: add a lesson and get an entry with AI-generated vocabulary and topics, ready to practise in quiz, translation, and checklist modes.
